Understanding Malocclusions (30 mins)
- Why are malocclusions so prevalent in western society
- A rationale for the the development of malocclusion will be discussed
- If we can understand the etiology of malocclusion then we will be able to better recognize, reduce the severity or prevent malocclusions
Esthetic Orthodontic Treatment (30 mins)
- Most patients seek orthodontic treatment focusing on enhancement ofappearance
- Orthodontic treatment now focuses on soft tissue rather than previous hard tissue treatments goals of Class I, II, or III
- What are the factors the maximize orthodontic treatments results and allow positions of the teeth in the most esthetic position possible
Tooth Movement at the Cellular Level (60 mins)
- This session will cover tooth movement at a cellular level to aid in understanding how we can position the teeth to achieve the most esthetic dental position possible
- What are the possibilities for tooth placement and what are the limitations
Properly Diagnosed Orthodontic Treatment (30 mins)
- The effects of orthodontic treatment at a macro, mini and micro level will be examined

The Basics of Biopsy (75 mins)
- This topic will cover indications for biopsy and when biopsy is not needed
- The techniques of incisional and excisional biopsy
Clinical Pathology Conference (75 mins)
- Several case studies will be presented to correlate clinical presentation with pathological diagnosis
